A subsidiary of Irish environmental engineering company FLI Group is set to contest four categories at the prestigious 2019 UK Ground Engineering awards.

The Wexford-based group's specialist contracting subsidiary Vertase FLI has been shortlisted in the 'Brownfield project of the year', 'Sustainability' and 'Contractor of the year' categories.

Abigail Brooks will also compete for the 'Rising Star' award.

In a statement, FLI Group said: "Achieving a finalist position in four separate categories is testament to the consistently high standards that our management and staff of Vertase FLI hold themselves to and follows on from the multiple awards and recognition that both Vertase FLI and FLI QDS won at the Brownfield Briefing awards in 2018. We are very pleased and proud of the fact that both of our soil remediation business divisions are consistently nominated for industry awards and it cements our industry reputation as leaders in contaminated land remediation and groundwater remediation."
