Farrans has delivered a new play park in Waringstown, Co Down.

The £100k project saw equipment installed for children up to the age of 14, including an inclusive basket swing, see-saw, inclusive roundabout, play panels and multi-play climbing units. A range of seating was also added.

Garden Escapes served as the subcontractor on the project, supplying and installing the selection of specialist playground equipment.

Lord Mayor of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon, Councillor Julie Flaherty officially opened the new park, cutting the ribbon on the new area.

She said: "What a brilliant morning we all had launching this wonderful play park in Waringstown and watching the children taking the equipment for a test drive!

"The sun was shining, the children were laughing and I am delighted that yet another park has been opened in our borough offering accessibility for all children to be able to come down and enjoy playing. Play is such an important part of childhood and we, as a council, are thrilled to support this."

This park forms part of the £4.75m play strategy, which will see a number of parks across the borough refurbished.
