Essential repair work has commenced on a Victorian sewer in Dublin city centre.

Irish Water is delivering the project on Clarendon Street with contractor GMC Sierra Limited. It will extend approximately 100 metres from the junction of Clarendon Street and Wicklow Street to the junction of Clarendon Street and Coppinger Row.

Work includes cleaning of the sewers to remove debris, and relining of structural defects in the sewer.

When complete, the project will benefit businesses and residents in the area by rectifying blockages and structural defects in the sewer network, and providing upgraded wastewater infrastructure.

Work will be carried out during evenings and overnight and is expected to be completed in early May.
