An Taoiseach, Leo Varadkar has opened a new state-of-the-art cricket ground at Tyrrelstown Park.
The new ground will become the home of Tyrrelstown Cricket Club after the official opening over the weekend, Saturday 30 March.
Cricket Leinster and Fingal County Council have worked with the club over recent years to provide the necessary funding for the installation of the brand new cricket pitch at the ground.
Welcoming the development, Cricket Leinster CEO, Philip Smith said: "Cricket in Leinster is rapidly expanding with over 10,000 people now actively involved in the sport across the province. Tyrrelstown Cricket Club is one of our fantastic growth stories and is now well positioned for further growth and development especially given its new home in the heart of the community and in proximity to local schools. We want to congratulate everyone involved and in particular to acknowledge the vision of Fingal County Council in making this happen."
