A cost of €50,000 per home has been estimated to tackle fire deficiency problems in a housing complex in Blanchardstown.
The numbers were revealed for the Verdemont Complex works, with a Sinn Féin councillor calling for government support.
Dublin City Cllr Paul Donnelly said: "I am absolutely shocked at the massive cost of the remedial works in the entire apartment complex.
"I visited the apartments with campaigner Tony Rochford after he discovered many problems with the apartments several years ago.
"Tony has now been completely vindicated.
"The residents of Priory Hall were supported and the Verdemont residents should also be supported by the government."
He added: "I am also calling for a review of the fire deaths of a young couple, Louise Wall and Mick Farrell, in 2002. The family have consistently campaigned for such a review following concerns that the fire spread so rapidly."
