A small village in County Limerick has been boosted with the delivery of a new car park, pedestrian crossing and footpaths.
The new 33-space car park opened in Adare, directly across the road from Scoil Naomh Iosaf, on the Newcastle West side of the village. It also includes two dedicated disabled spaces.
Work in the area also included the provision of a pedestrian crossing outside the school, linked by new footpaths, allowing a safe walking route for parents and pupils.
Mayor of the City and County of Limerick Cllr James Collins said: "These new parking spaces are most welcome for the village of Adare. They will help with traffic management in the village, especially during school opening and closing times.
"Adare is one of Limerick's tourist gems and this car park will help make the village more welcoming, especially as the essence of the village will be changed for the better when the bypass is opened."
