Water mains are set to be replaced on Skehard Road in Cork city ahead of the next phase of a road improvement scheme.
Approximately 300 metres of problematic mains will be replaced with modern, polyethylene (plastic) pipes.
Irish Water launched the project yesterday, 13 May, which will take place on the Skehard Road, between Scally's Supervalu and Fothair na Darach/Oakdene.
Coffey Northumbrian is carrying out the works on behalf of Irish Water and Cork City Council under the utility's €500 million national Leakage Reduction Programme.
Traffic management may be in place during the work, which also could result in some short-term water shut offs.
