A series of exhibition events have been announced for the Enniscorthy Flood Defence Scheme, inviting local people to voice their opinion on plans.
The scheme proposes a number of measures to prevent flooding in the town. These include river channel widening, river deepening, bridge relocation, and the construction of extensive glass panelled flood walls through the town.
It covers a 3.5km stretch of the River Slaney, extending from 1.5km upstream of Enniscorthy Bridge to 2km downstream.
Four events will be held at the Enniscorthy Library on Lymington Road, Co Wexford over the next few weeks:
• Monday 20 May 3pm to 8pm;
• Tuesday 28 May 10.30am to 7.30pm;
• Wednesday 05 June 10.30am to 7.30pm;
• Thursday 13 June 3pm to 8pm.
A copy of the scheme will also be available for inspection in the offices of Wexford County Council, County Hall, Carricklawn from 2pm on Friday 17 May until 18 June.
