The government is set to introduce new short-term letting regulations by July, despite pressure from Airbnb to delay the legislation.
Housing Minister Eoghan Murphy confirmed the new rules will come into effect by the 01 July deadline, subject to approval by the Oireachtas this week.
Welcoming the confirmation, Sinn Féin Housing spokesperson Eoin Ó Broin TD said: "The deadline for the introduction of these regulations has already been extended by one month and it should not be delayed any further."
The Housing Committee will now scrutinise the new regulations before they go to the floor of the Dáil for approval.
