Three beaches in the Newry, Mourne and Down District Council area have secured Blue Flag status.
The Cranfield, Tyrella and Murlough beaches were celebrated at the 2019 Blue Flag and Seaside Awards on Thursday 30 May at The Marine Court Hotel, Bangor.
The awards recognise coastal destinations which meet the highest quality in water, safety and environmental management.
Newry, Mourne and Down District Council Chairperson, Councillor Charlie Casey said: "Blue Flag status is such an important selling point for our district as we strive to become a premier tourism destination. I am delighted that Cranfield, Tyrella and Murlough beaches have been recognised in these prestigious awards.
"Cleanliness, safety and assured water quality are key factors in deciding which beach to visit and the Blue Flag acts as a guarantee to our tourists that these beaches are some of the best in Ireland."
