Developers and contractors are being urged to deliver proposals for new, turnkey social housing in South Leitrim.

Leitrim County Council is calling for proposals for six areas in the region as a response to national housing needs.

Expressions of Interest are being sought from private developers and building contractors for housing proposals with planning permission for housing units in Carrick on Shannon, Ballinamore, Carrigallen, Dromod, Leitrim Village and Drumsna.

Developments which are about to commence, have commenced or that are partially complete will be considered.

All purchases of social housing have to be approved by the Department of Housing, Planning, and Local Government, and the purchase of any units is therefore subject to approval being obtained.

The deadline for completed Expression of Interest forms is 4.00pm on 21 June.

Forms should be returned marked "Expression of Interests – Housing Provision" to Senior Executive Officer, Corporate Services, Leitrim County Council, Aras an Chontae, Carrick on Shannon, Co. Leitrim.
