On behalf of Irish Water, the contractor is replacing problematic water mains with high density polyethylene (plastic) pipes in a number of places over the summer.
The works will take place at Rinbaun, Cairns Hill and Bóthar an Corran. The works will involve laying new water service connections from the public water main in the road to customers' property boundaries and connecting it to the customers' water supply. Where the existing service connections on the public side are lead these will be replaced as part of this improvement work.

The Bóthar an Corran works, which involve the replacement of over 530m of problematic water mains, commenced on 10 June and will take approximately four weeks to complete. These works will take place from St. Martin's to Inishfree, Keenaghan.
The Cairns Hill works are due to commence mid-June 2019 and involve the replacement of 360m of problematic water mains along Campbell's Court. These works are expected to finish in July 2019.
In Rinbaun, over 1km of old mains will be replaced along the N17 from Coolaney/Mullinabreen GAA club and finishing approximately 6 kilometres from Ballanacarrow. These works are due to commence in July 2019 and are expected to be complete by September 2019.
These works are being carried out as part of Irish Water's National Leakage Reduction Programme.
