A newly-designed public realm scheme for Maghera is set to be unveiled later this month.
The £2.5 million scheme aims to transform the look of the town centre with new paving, lighting, planting and street furniture, as well as address traffic flow issues. It will extends the length of Main Street, taking in parts of Coleraine Road, Station Road, Meeting House Avenue, Tirkane Road, Church Street, Glen Road, Hall Street, Bank Square and St Lurach's Road.
The designs for the work were updated after a initial community engagement took place in March.
Mid Ulster District Council is displaying the new designs at an information session in Maghera Leisure Centre on Wednesday 26 June from 1pm to 8pm.
Encouraging people to attend the upcoming event, Chair of the Council, Councillor Martin Kearney said: "The proposed public realm scheme in Maghera forms part of an overall £5m investment in the town and will have a significant, positive impact on the town centre, its vitality and its accessibility in terms of traffic and parking.
"This latest information session gives local people an opportunity to meet the consultants who are working on the scheme, to see design concepts updated following work which has taken place since March, and to feedback their views on the scheme as it now stands."
