Planning Permission Granted For New Sligo Water Treatment Plant

Plans have been green lit for a new water treatment plant at Lough Talt in County Sligo.

This work will be delivered as an improvement on the current plant, which does not provide adequate treatment for protection against cryptosporidium and needs to be upgraded.

When complete, the new plant will ensure a safe and secure supply of water will be delivered to the people on this scheme.

Irish Water is leading the project, and is expected to deliver a works contract for the upgrade in the coming weeks.

The project will be completed by the end of 2020.
