The Northern Ireland Housing Executive (NIHE) has strengthened its Board with a new appointment.
Chris Welch, an experienced senior figure in the housing sector, has been named as the latest Board Member. This appointment will take effect from 01 August 2019 for a period of six months or until permanent Board Member appointments are made, whichever is earlier.
NI Secretary of State Julian Smith announced the appointment, which was made possible by powers under the Northern Ireland (Executive Formation and Exercise of Functions) Act 2018 in the absence of NI Ministers.
Mr Welch brings experience in senior management roles at six social housing providers to the Board. He has held positions at companies like Acclaim Housing Group, Waterloo Housing Group and Connect Housing. He also boasts experience leading strategic reviews, streamlining processes and implementing improved management systems.
