Work to construct over three kilometres of new water mains in Arklow, County Wicklow, is moving forward.
Irish Water has warned local customers of a potential water disruption to facilitate the work on Wednesday 21 August from 10pm to 2am. The areas affected will include Church View, Abbey Heights, Abbey Park, Blackberry Glade, Ocean Crest, Abbeylands, Harbour Court, Tinahask Lower, The Green, Anchor Mews, Abbeylands Hill, Dock Road, Rockview Terrace, Harbour Road and South Quay.
Following these improvement works, water supply may take between two and three hours to return as water refills the network.
The work is being carried out as part of Irish Water's national Leakage Reduction Programme which will, over the next four years, see €500 million invested to reduce the level of leakage across the country by fixing and replacing ageing water mains.
