Larne Roadworks To Begin Next Week

A series of traffic restrictions are set to be introduced in Larne over the next few weeks to support road improvement works.

The A8 Ballymena Road from Pound Street junction (Belfast bound lane) for 1.1km will be resurfaced in a £237,000 scheme.

Work will begin on Friday 20 September and run until Sunday 06 October.

A full road closure will be in place from 7.00pm on Friday 20 September until 8pm on Sunday 22 September, followed by a lane closure from 23-27 September between 9.30am and 4.30pm.

Another full closure will then be in place from 6am until 8pm on Saturday 28 September.

During these times a diversion will be implemented via Circular Road, Circular Road Roundabout, Glenarm Road, Victoria Road, Old Glenarm Road, Greenland Road, The Roddens and Antiville Road.

Drivers should expect some delays and are advised to allow additional time when travelling in the area.
