Residents in the Skerries area of Fingal are set to find out more information about upcoming water supply works.
An event will be held in Skerries Community Centre on Monday 30 September from 6-8pm, giving local people the opportunity to learn about the programme of works.
Irish Water and contractor GMC Limited are planning to replace ageing water mains in the area with new modern pipes. This will help safeguard the water supply for homes and businesses in Skerries.
The work will be delivered in sections to limit disruption and traffic management will be in place throughout the works. Emergency access will be maintained at all times.
Speaking about the project, Matt Thompson, Irish Water's Leakage Reduction Programme Regional Lead, said: "The construction of new water mains in Skerries is vital to ensure a safer and a more secure water supply to homes and businesses in the area and will also support the economic and social development of the area. Upgrading the water infrastructure will ensure that customers in Skerries will have a more reliable and secure supply which will result in fewer disruptions to their water supply. Irish Water understands this type of work can be inconvenient and we will ensure our work crews make every effort to minimise any disruption these works may cause."
Work is scheduled to begin in October.
