SMEs across Ireland are set to benefit from a host of local tendering opportunities at a new Supplier Engagement event in the greater Dublin area.
InterTradeIreland and The Local Government Management Agency (LGMA) are collaborating on the upcoming event, which will be held at CityWest Hotel & Conference Centre next week, Tuesday 01 October.
Through discussions with members of local councils, SMEs will gain information on bidding for projects covering housing, planning, roads, environmental protection and recreation.
Grant Gilmore, InterTradeIreland Tendering Manager said: "This event gives SMEs access to staff who commission and procure goods and services on behalf of the local authorities. SMEs will learn about the benefits of bidding for public sector contracts, through one-to-one meetings with the key personnel from the representative councils. As well as engaging directly with key staff, there will be a series of information sessions on related topics such as 'Consortia Development' and 'Brexit Planning', as well as 'Getting Ready for Green Procurement' and the new 'National Building Control Regulation Unit'.
"Businesses are encouraged to attend and make the most of this opportunity to better equip themselves to successfully pitch for local government business in the future."
