A Quantity Surveyor at Mercury Engineering has secured a prestigious accolade from CitA.
Frederic Lefebvre was presented with an award for the Best Industrial Paper for his thesis paper titled "An investigation into current procurement strategies that promote collaboration through early contractor involvement with regards to their suitability for Irish public works projects" at the CitA BIM Gathering 2019 in Galway.
Mr Lefebvre works on the National Children's Hospital project in Dublin. He joined Mercury in 2000, working as an electrical estimator for 15 years, and gained a vast experience in tendering commercial, infrastructure, pharma, data centre or healthcare projects in both public and private sectors.
He graduated from DIT (Now TU Dublin) in 2015, with a BSc in Quantity Surveying and Construction Economics and received a first-class honours MSc in Applied Building Information Modelling and Management at TU Dublin in 2019. He has a strong interest in Early Contractor Involvement, Integrated Project Delivery and collaborative procurement methods which are the subject of the research presented by Frederic at the 2019 BIM Gathering event.
