A recently improved playground has been opened in the County Cork town of Charleville.
Minister of State at the Department of Finance and the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform, Patrick O'Donovan TD visited the site over the weekend to officially open the new facility.
He was joined by Cllr Ian Doyle, who was deputising for Mayor of the County of Cork, at the event.
"This upgrade to the playground is excellent news for the people of Charleville and the surrounding villages," said Cllr Doyle. "The previous playground served the community well, however this improved facility brings a new lease of life to the area. This playground will be a great benefit to the families of the region for years to come."
The new facility, which has been in use since July, has been upgraded under the Town and Village Renewal Scheme with €100,000 allocated through Cork County Council in 2018.
