A series of water mains improvement works are set to cause potential disruption to supply in Cork.
Irish Water is carrying out work on Mount Verdon Terrace, Wellington Road this week to upgrade the supply. The utility has warned there may be a disruption to water supply from 9.30am to 4.30pm on Thursday 06 February.
The areas affected by the work will be: Wellington Road, Summer Hill (dwellings on north side of hill), York Hill; Sidney Mews, Sidney Park, Belgrave Avenue, Belgrave Place; St. Patricks Place, York Terrace, Waterloo Place, Grosvenor Place; Wellesley Terrace and Charlemont Terrace.
During these essential planned works, homes and businesses may be impacted by reduced water pressure and water outages. Following these improvement works water supply may take 2-3 hours to return as water refills the network.
These works are being carried out as part of Irish Water's national Leakage Reduction Programme which will see €500 million invested in the period up to 2021 to reduce the level of leakage across the country by fixing and replacing ageing water mains.
