A project to build Dublin's tallest office building has celebrated a major construction milestone.
Main contractor Bennett marked the topping out of the Exo Building with the completion of the active alignment of the structural steel to the north side.
This brings the €70 million structure to its 17-storey height after two years working on the development.
The building is located between the existing 3 Arena and the East Wall Road. It is raised at ground level by approximately eight metres and supported by three elliptical cores.
The EXO Building has been designed to target a Building Energy Rating of A3 and LEED Gold certification and Wired Certified Platinum.
As part of the development there will be an external roof terrace, bicycle parking, plant, staff facilities, storage, etc.
The existing basement beneath the Point Square will be utilised as plant and staff facilities areas with the lid to the existing basement being demolished and replaced with a slab capable of supporting a LUAS line.
A glazed restaurant/bar unit will be constructed above the existing basement which will incorporated back of house facilities and a mezzanine floor.
Public realm landscaping works including relocation of existing site signage, new bus shelter, taxi shelter also form part of the works.
