£400k Refurb Complete At Enniskillen County Buildings

Construction News Image
Enniskillen's County Buildings has reopened to the public following a £400,000 refurbishment.

The investment has seen the delivery of a new customer focused hub at the site, designed to make it easier to access Fermanagh and Omagh District Council services. The Enniskillen 'Connect Centre' and a number of the Council's Enniskillen based public facing services are now located at the premises.

This refurbishment forms part of the Council's programme of work to improve overall customer experience.

Speaking about the opening, Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Siobhán Currie said: "Our ratepayers, customers and service users have told us that overall they prefer to have direct contact with the Council through face to face or telephone communication.

"The reopening of County Buildings is part of the Council's wider Project Citizen initiative, with the building refurbished around the needs of our ratepayers, customers and service users.

"The £400k investment to the building has created an accessible, conveniently located one stop shop for members of the public to access Council services and information, carry out transactions with the Council and provide a signposting service to other services provided by various government departments or agencies.

"We encourage people to come in and see the new Connect Centre and to find out more about the services available. We welcome feedback on the new premises and any suggestions people may have on how we can further improve services."

The opening of County Buildings and the Connect Centre, Enniskillen, follows the opening of the Omagh Connect Centre and Strule House on High Street in 2018, where many of the Council's Omagh based public facing services are now located as part of the Council's commitment to bringing services closer to residents and supporting Enniskillen and Omagh town centres.
