Plans for a state-of-the-art Agri Development Hub just outside Dungannon have taken a major step forward.
Mid Ulster District Council's Planning Committee granted outline planning permission for the £15 million development at Tamnamore, which will see Capper Trading deliver 22,000 sqm hub to facilitate the processing of straw and animal feeds and to include a research and development centre, associated parking, landscape and environmental enhancement works.
Capper, a well-established and significant local employer, employs around 120 staff with an annual turnover of up to £21 million. This scheme will expand the firm's economic contribution to the local and regional economy.
Welcoming the progress, Chair of the Planning Committee, Councillor Cáthal Mallaghan said: "Capper has been trading for 50 years and is a market leader in its field. These plans are crucial to allow the company to continue to grow and any increase in the business will have a positive impact on the local economy.
"Mid Ulster continues to be a key destination for investment, with 55 applications for industrial and commercial development in the first half of this financial year, a figure higher than any other Council area here.
"As a Planning Committee we have a vital role to play in helping to support strategic and sustainable economic growth."
