Castledermot library in Co Kildare has reopened its doors to the public following a series of upgrades.
Cathaoirleach of Kildare Councillor Suzanne Doyle joined new members to mark the official reopening late last month, Saturday 29 February, to coincide with National Public Library Day.
The extensive upgrade works which were part funded by Local Property Tax from the Athy Municipal District commenced in Castledermot library in October 2019. These works included restoration of the beautiful stained glass, a full internal fit-out, energy efficient upgrade, internal and external decoration, new computers and laptops and a new book collection.
These improvements have enabled the library to extend its opening hours.
