The Royal Society of Ulster Architects (RSUA) has whittled down entries for its 2020 Design Awards to 10.

From the 27 projects that were entered for the awards, only 10 have been shortlisted for further consideration for an award.

Shortlisted schemes include The Lanyon Building Conservation and Restoration Project by Consarc Design Group at Queen's University Belfast, as well as the Patrick Bradley Architects Studio in Maghera from Patrick Bradley Architects.

The further eight shortlisted projects are:

• Rathview Mental Health Unit, Omagh - TODD Architects

• Hillsborough Castle and Gardens Visitor Facilities, Hillsborough - Consarc Design Group

• Carrickfergus Castle Roof Replacement - Alastair Coey Architects and Kennedy Fitzgerald Architects

• Acute Mental Health Inpatient Centre, Belfast - RPP Architects, Richard Murphy Architects, Devereux Architects

• School of Biological Sciences, QUB, Belfast - Scott Tallon Walker Architects and White Ink Architects

• Davagh Observatory, Cookstown - ARCEN

• Old Court Mill, Sion Mills - GM Design Associates

• FLIPHOUSE, Bangor - BGA Architects.

These projects will be visited by the judging panel in March ahead of the event later this year.

The winners of this year's RSUA Design Awards will be announced at a ceremony on Thursday 14 May 2020 at the Ulster Hall in Belfast.
