Works Continue To Improve Water And Sewer Network In Bandon

Contractors are continuing work to replace aging water mains in Bandon, Cork.

The works are part of the Bandon Water Main and Sewer Network upgrade project which will improve the water and sewer network in the area.

Irish Water is working in partnership with Cork County Council and its third party contractors.

The works include the replacement of 10kms aging water mains with a high frequency of burst and high rate of leakage, upgrading over 5kms of sewer network and the replacement of all lead and copper communications pipes crossed or otherwise encountered during the construction works and replacement with polyethylene pipe.

They are expected to be complete by the end of this year.
