Tender Documents To Build New Garda Station In Cavan To Go Live

Tender documents to develop a new Garda Station in Cavan will go live in around three weeks time.

Fianna Fáil TD Niamh Smyth has received confirmation from the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform Michael McGrath TD that pre-qualification procedures for the Main Contractor and Reserved Specialists has been completed.

She said: "This is a project I have been working on since being elected to Dáil Éireann with successive Ministers. I am delighted that my Party colleague, Minister McGrath, has confirmed to me that tender documentation will issue in October.

"I understand the contract for the build will be issued before the end of this year, followed by the construction process which is expected to take 18 months.

"I will continue to work my Party colleagues in Government to ensure this project progresses swiftly and a new, modern Garda Station is provided for the town."
