Traco Power Solutions Expands Product Line

Traco Power Solutions is expanding its product line to design and develop customised high-voltage power supply solutions for the European market.

The company, which celebrated its 30th anniversary in Wexford last year, is now recruiting for seven new roles to service the new business at its facility at Whitemills Industrial Estate, which is the only R&D site within the Traco Power Group.

The development is supported by the Irish Government through IDA Ireland.

In 1989 Convertec Ltd. was established in Wexford by Dr Werner Wölfle and Mr Hans Caspar, to manufacture DC-DC converters for sale through its Swiss distribution company, Traco Electronic AG and its German distribution company Comptec GmbH. Now owned by its immediate parent company, Traco Electronic AG, and operating in Ireland as Traco Power Solutions Ltd, its main activities are the design and distribution of power supplies.

Managing Director of Traco Power Solutions, Luis De Sousa said: "The commodity power supply sector is intensely competitive on cost, but our competitive edge lies in being innovative and having the necessary expertise. This decision by our parent company, TRACO POWER, to support our product portfolio expansion here in Wexford is a great show of confidence in the Irish site which will also benefit from having some of these products manufactured here in Ireland."
