Under its Housing Delivery Programme, City Councillors approved the following key proposals at their recent monthly meeting:

The scheme is located on the site of the former St. Finbar's Court complex (demolished) in Cabra, Dublin 7 that consisted of 29 bedsit units and was built in 1977. This proposal will now go out to tender for construction of the new homes plus a community building.

Part 8 Planning Permission for the construction of 12 quality new apartments. These apartments will be designated as permanent Social Housing for applicants on the Council’s Housing List and has four one-bedroom homes suitable for older persons. The scheme is located at the junction of Moatview Drive and Belcamp Crescent in Coolock, Dublin 17. The apartments are in four blocks that are two storey in height with three homes in each block. We will now proceed as quickly as possible to tender for a contractor to demolish the existing structure and to construct these new homes.

City Councillors also approved the disposal of a City Council owned site at Coruba House, St. Agnes Road in Crumlin, Dublin 12 to Circle Voluntary Housing Association. Circle propose to partner with Seabren who are developing the privately owned site immediately adjacent to our site. The combined scheme / proposal will facilitate the development of 152 quality new homes. 50% of the new scheme will be constructed for Cost Rental scheme and the other 50% will be for Social Housing. Planning permission for the overall scheme is currently under consideration by Bord Pleanála and if approved the development will commence without delay.
