Plans to create a new 250-acre woodland near to Cavehill Country Park in north Belfast have been welcomed by the Green Party.
Deputy Leader Mal O'Hara has said it is "great news" for the people of Belfast and beyond.
He said: "The woodland and grasslands have the potential to contribute to ongoing efforts to combat climate change and will become a habitat for nature.
"I'd like to thank the Woodland Trust for their vision in acquiring the site and look forward to seeing their plans in more detail."
