A £230,000 resurfacing scheme in Newtownards will commence on Monday, 24 May.
The improvement work will include resurfacing the A20 Kempe Stones Roundabout plus a short distance into each connecting road.
Infrastructure Minister Nichola Mallon said: "This significant investment will greatly improve the strength and surface quality of this roundabout. This will benefit all who use it including businesses and residents in the area. I would like to thank the travelling public and local residents in advance for their cooperation while these much needed works are completed."
To complete the scheme safely traffic management measures will be in place from Monday 24 May until Friday 28 May between the hours of 7pm and 6am. During these times a diversion will be in place. The Kempe Stones Road itself will be closed from the Old Belfast Road in the direction of Newtownards only. Traffic will be diverted off the A20 Kempe Stones Road dual carriageway in Dundonald and along the Old Belfast Road. Traffic seeking to access the roundabout from Newtownards will be diverted along Old Belfast Road towards Dundonald.
Each of the side roads at the roundabout - the Blair Mayne Road South, Nursery Road and Blair Mayne Road North will be closed. Access and egress from Ards shopping centre will be facilitated although there may be some short delays.
The road will be open to traffic during the day Monday to Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday. Local access for residents and emergency services will be maintained at all times during the works although some delays may be experienced.
