Work on a £350,000 road resurfacing scheme in Ballywalter will commence on Monday 17 May 2021.
The improvement work, on the B5 Greyabbey Road, will include the resurfacing of a 1.55 kilometre stretch of carriageway from Demense Road towards Ballyatwood Road.
To complete the scheme safely traffic management measures will be in place from Monday 17 May, with work initially being carried out using temporary traffic signals. From Monday 24 May, a road closure will be in place Monday to Friday for a period of five weeks, between the hours of 8am and 5pm. During these times a signed diversion will be in place. Traffic will be diverted via the A2 Main Street, Ballywalter, C256 Dunover Road. C256 Cardy Road East, C256 Mountstewart Road, A20 Portaferry Road, Greyabbey.
Infrastructure Minister Nichola Mallon said: "This significant investment will greatly improve the strength and surface quality of this section of the road network. This will benefit all who use it including businesses and residents in the area. I would like to thank the travelling public and local residents in advance for their cooperation while these much needed works are completed."
The work is expected to be complete on Saturday 26 June.
