Fine Gael has hit out at Sinn Féin members for voting against Donabate housing projects, in an attempt to block progress.
Dublin Fingal TD, Alan Farrell, said: "The Donabate Local Area Development Plan has been the product of hard work from Council officials and County Councillors for many years. I voted in favour of it when it was first adopted in 2006 and it was renewed by the Council in 2016. The plan will provide much needed housing, 1200 units in total, to a wide range of people who desperately need to see greater housing supply brought to the market. However, Sinn Féin Council members attempted to block this development, voting against much needed progress on housing for the area.
"The plan will bring together affordable and social homes, and provide young families with the option to live in the locality they have grown up in. However, voting against the development of these homes is the latest in an anti-housing pattern of behaviour from Sinn Féin and will damage our community and first -time buyers trying to get on the property ladder."
