A programme of essential upgrades has been launched at Carnaross Water Treatment Plant in Co Meath.
Irish Water is working alongside Meath County Council on the scheme, which aims to improve operational performance at the plant.
While works are ongoing customers in Carnaross may experience temporary disruption to their supply such as low water pressure and/or water outages for short periods today, Thursday 21 October, between 10am and 4pm.
When works are completed it may take 2-3 hours for normal water supply to return to all customers but it is important to continue to follow the HSE guidance on hand-washing.
Speaking about the works, Michael Cunniffe, Irish Water said: "Irish Water understands the inconvenience caused when works occur and thanks customers for their patience while we complete these essential upgrade works to secure the water supply for customers."
