Global firm MetPro Ltd is set to expand its manufacturing facility in Tralee, Co Kerry, creating 15 new jobs over the next three years.

The Transcendia company specialises in the provision of sustainable solutions based on proprietary BioCor VCI technology for incorporation into paper and plastic packaging materials in the automotive, engineering, electronics and packaging industries. In 2014, MetPro was acquired by Transcendia, a US company engaged in the manufacture of specialty film and coating products.

This expansion is supported by the Irish Government through IDA Ireland.

Welcoming the announcement, Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Leo Varadkar TD said: "Congratulations to the team at MetPro on this expansion, which will see 15 new jobs created over the next three years. I know the Tralee site has played an especially pivotal role in R&D for the company's global manufacturing services and I wish the team the very best of luck with their future plans."
