A programming of resurfacing work is set to begin in Dromore, Co Down, next week.
The Department for Infrastructure is leading the £112,000 scheme, which will see the Backnamullagh Road improved over a 2.1km distance from the Grove Road to the A1 Hillsborough Road.
Work will commence on Monday 10 January 2022 and is expected to be fully complete by Friday 18 February 2022.
Daily weekday road closures will be in place between 8am and 6pm throughout to facilitate the work. During these times a signed diversionary route will be in place using A1 Hillsborough Road - Dromore Road - Edentrillick Road - Grove Road and vice versa. Local access for residents and emergency services will be maintained at all times.
Commenting on the scheme, Infrastructure Minister Nichola Mallon said: "This significant investment will greatly improve the strength and surface quality of this section of the road network to the benefit of local residents and those who travel through the area. I would like to thank the public and local residents in advance for their cooperation and ask that they comply with all temporary traffic restrictions while these much needed works are completed."
