A road improvement scheme has boosted safety for pedestrians in the County Down village of Millisle.
The Department for Infrastructure led a £85,000 scheme along Abbey Road, which included the provision of a two metre footway along with necessary earthworks, kerbing and associated drainage works along the route from its junction with Millbrook Road for a distance of 440 metres.
Welcoming the completion of the scheme, Infrastructure Minister Nichola Mallon said: "This significant investment of £85,000 will improve road safety for pedestrians along this busy section of road in Millisle which will enhance provision for pedestrians and provide further opportunities for active travel.
"I would like to thank the public and local businesses for their cooperation and compliance with all temporary traffic restrictions during construction."
The work was completed in December 2021.
