Northern Ireland contractor Farrans has been recognised with the Business Working Responsibly mark, the leading standard for sustainability.
The Mark, developed by Business in the Community Ireland and audited by the NSAI, is based on ISO 26000.
Established in 2010, the Business Working Responsibly Mark ('the Mark') is the leading standard for sustainability that fosters a culture of continuous improvement, ongoing accountability and leadership.
The Mark is a strategic management assessment framework which facilitates internal organisational collaboration and supports the integration of environmental and social imperatives into core business practices.
Speaking of the achievement Dominic Lavery, Managing Director of Farrans, said: "Well done to all involved in this accolade. There was a lot of hard work put in by dedicated people to achieve this. This is acknowledgment that the direction of travel for Farrans is the correct one and confirmation of the outstanding work that our community business partner and sustainability teams are delivering. We are committed to a brighter future."
The Mark fosters excellence in CSR/Sustainability by establishing and continually improving the management system which underpins the listed environmental, social, economic and governance topics. The management system is founded on good governance as demonstrated through the organisation's definition, management and decision-making structures, values, and stakeholder engagement approach in support of its CSR and Sustainability purpose and strategy.
