Ebrington Entrance And Boundary Treatment Works Reach Completion

Construction News Image
A project to install a new Entrance and Boundary Treatment works in the Ebrington area of L'Derry has been completed.

This scheme was delivered off the Limavady road alongside controlled pedestrian crossing points, with the new entrance framed with stone cladding walls with backlit signage and landscaping.

The wall and fence along the Limavady road old boundary wall, which had been removed as part of the works, was replaced in a new alignment for sightlines for the new entrance with trees and other landscaping planted along its length.

The new junction on the Limavady Road has improved the flow of traffic and allowed safer access and egress for the care home and Oakgrove Integrated Primary School. A new stone clad wall with signage was installed as part of the works for Oakgrove Integrated Primary School & Nursery, with students also visiting the site during the works to learn about construction and receiving a presentation in the class room.

The New Road into Ebrington included future proof utility installations. The road had new granite footpaths of each side separated from the road with a turfed grass strip, trees and New LED lighting. At the previous main entrance from St Columb's Road, Ebrington square has been created with 'The Amazing Space Peace Tree' 7m high sculpture at its centre. The sculpture created by local artist Maurice Harron features peace pledges on its leaves, lit by a flowing colour sequence of lights. The area also has seating and landscaping, with a number of distinct paving patterned areas using both high quality granite and aggregate topped concrete pavers to accentuate the features in this area.
