Galway Water Supply Undergoes Essential Works

A warning has been issued to Irish Water customers in Loughrea, Co Galway, over potential disruption to supply due to key works.

The national utility is partnering with Galway County Council to carry out essential works on the Loughrea Regional Water Supply Scheme.

While these works are underway, customers in the following areas may experience a slight increase in the taste and smell of chlorine in their drinking water including: Craughwell and Loughrea.

Irish Water would like to assure all customers supplied by Loughrea Regional Water Supply Scheme that the drinking water is safe to drink and the level of chlorine in your water is carefully monitored and controlled to ensure it is maintained at levels that are not harmful to health.

Irish Water and Galway County Council regret any inconvenience these essential maintenance works may cause.
