A meeting has been held between Infrastructure Minister John O'Dowd and members of the Inclusive Mobility and Transport Advisory Committee (IMTAC).
Bert Bailie, Chairman of IMTAC formally presented their 2021/22 Annual Report to Minister O'Dowd. They also discussed the vital role they play in advocating for older people, for those who are deaf or have a disability and to acknowledge the support they provide to the Department.
Speaking following the meeting, Minister O'Dowd said: "My Department and IMTAC have a strong working relationship and have engaged on a range of transport issues over many years. The work the Committee undertakes and the advice they provide to the Department is invaluable so I welcomed the opportunity to meet with them today to hear more about the progress made over the past year and to discuss their priorities moving forward.
"While much progress has been made in terms of accessibility and inclusion for deaf people, people with a disability and older people, I know that more needs to be done. I am committed to working with IMTAC and my colleagues across government to ensure that we can deliver the successful outcomes required by everyone in our society."
