An open call has been launched for architectural projects to tackle the climate and environmental crisis across Europe, including Ireland.

This initiative has been developed by LINA, a major new European architecture platform of which the Irish Architecture Foundation (IAF) is the only Irish partner organisation.

LINA is calling upon emerging architects and other creatives across the EU to share their ideas, projects, or practices that might help make the European Green Deal a reality.

The open call is part of this year's LINA Architecture Programme, headed by Matevž Čelik and the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Ljubljana. It is a continuation of the Future Architecture Platform.

Approximately 15 standout projects will be selected by representatives from the LINA network, who will act as jurors. The LINA network comprises an alliance of architectural museums, universities, research networks, foundations, triennials, biennials, and other architectural organisations, including the IAF.

The 15 selected entrants will be invited to speak at the inaugural annual LINA conference in Ljubljana, Slovenia, due to take place this autumn. The conference programme will feature some of the most prominent thinkers in the field of architecture, an analysis of the State of the Architecture address, and a host of innovative ideas promoting the values of the European Green Deal and the New European Bauhaus initiative. In matchmaking events, LINA fellows and members will connect and decide on the best ways to feature the selected projects in specific events of the LINA Architecture Programme.

Our membership enables us to join with peer organisations across Europe to create opportunities for emerging architecture professionals in Ireland, and the whole EU, to enhance their research, practice, international networking and career development. Ireland has so many talented young architects. We strongly encourage them to take this opportunity to propose their own projects through the LINA open call."
