A crew of engineers have successfully repaired a burst water main in Ballydaheen, Mallow.

Irish Water collaborated with Cork County Council to restore the water to the southside of Mallow Town as quickly as possible. 

The burst impacted water supply to homes and business in the area, with some experiencing a water outage while others had a low-pressure supply.

Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to be restored to all customers affected by an unplanned outage. 

Speaking about the repair works, Pat Britton of Irish Water said: "The repairs on the burst watermain in Ballydaheen are being conducted as quickly as possible to minimise disruption to the community and restore water for all customers.

"We understand the inconvenience unplanned outages can have on customers and we appreciate their patience as we work to repair the burst and return the water supply."

Irish Water is responsible for the delivery of all public water and wastewater services in Ireland.
