A competition has been launched to commission two public artworks as part of the N22 Baile Bhuirne to Macroom Road Development.
Cork County Council and Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) are seeking €30,000 commissions which will build on the existing rich culture of the communities and settlements on the N22 Road Development.
Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr Danny Collins said: "This is a unique opportunity for artists to engage with the strong culture of the Baile Bhuirne and Macroom area and for the communities along the route to engage with public art. We look forward to receiving proposals that have the capacity to connect with the local community in the physical, social, environmental, cultural, and historical contexts of the area. I am sure that the successful commissions will further enhance this transformative road development for Cork County."
Cork County Council is seeking creative proposals from professional artists or artist collectives in any artform or combination of art forms. The work can be of a permanent or temporary nature.
Artists are invited to submit proposals by 11pm on Sunday, 23 October via Cork County Council's customer service portal.
