Cherrywood Business Park in County Dublin is set to undergo significant water supply upgrades.

Irish Water and Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council are collaborating to construct an additional 400 metres of new trunk water mains which will be installed between two existing water connection points. As part of the project, Irish Water will also progress the testing, disinfecting and commissioning of 400 metres of existing pipeline, not currently in operation, that was installed previously in anticipation of these upgrades.

These works will help provide a more reliable water supply to the local community while also supporting future growth and economic development.

Commenting on the project, Padraig Hanly, Irish Water said: "Working with our colleagues in Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, we are delighted to announce the beginning of construction work on these important upgrades for Cherrywood. The works will support future residential and commercial development while also improving the overall performance of the existing water network, providing a more reliable water supply to the local community.

"We understand that the works may cause some inconvenience to the local community, however, our crews will make every effort to minimise disruption and complete the project as quickly as possible. On behalf of Irish Water, I would like to thank everyone in advance for their support and co-operation."

GMC Utilities Ltd will begin work next week and is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
