A programme of water works is expected to begin in Cork city tomorrow, 01 December.
Irish Water and Cork City Council are working together to deliver leakage reduction works in the Rathmore Park and Richmond Hill areas.
Customers in Rathmore Road, Rathmore Park, Rathmore Terrace, Roche's Buildings, Goldsmith's Avenue, Sarsfield Terrace, Audley Square, Lansdowne Court, Old Youghal Road and Richmond Hill, have been advised that their water supply may be impacted as a result.
During these essential works, homes and businesses in the above areas may be impacted by reduced water pressure and water outages. Following the completion of improvement works, water supply may take two-three hours to return as water refills the network. Work crews will endeavour to complete works ahead of time to expedite the return of supply to the affected areas.
To facilitate the works, there will be a traffic management system in place on Rathmore Park Road.
The works are being carried out as part of the 'The Find & Fix Scheme' which is part of Irish Water's National Leakage Reduction plan. It involves leak detection experts using underground sound equipment in public areas to locate and repair leaks.
