A planning application has been lodged for the second phase of the Passage Railway Greenway Improvement Scheme in Cork city.

Cork City has confirmed plans to apply to An Bord Pleanála for planning approval.

The scheme consists of the widening and enhancement of the greenway from Mahon to the City/County Boundary, approaching Passage West. The proposed works aim to provide a segregated section of greenway adjacent to the R610 Rochestown Road and enhance approximately 1.5km of existing walkways to Mahon Industrial Estate and Mahon Interchange. The works include widening and resurfacing of the greenway, landscaping and public realm improvement works, bridge repair and improvement works, provision of new public lighting, drainage infrastructure and other associated works.
