Louth Reservoir To Undergo Survey

A survey is expected to begin shortly at Rosehall Reservoir in County Louth.

Preparation works are taking place ahead of the survey, led by Uisce Éireann and Louth County Council.

Uisce Éireann experts carry out regular dam inspections and surveys across the country to assess what level of maintenance and repairs are required.

Continued inspection and maintenance of large, raised reservoirs within the public water supply network is essential to ensure they are safe for the local community.

At Rosehall Reservoir, it was necessary for the structure's embankment to be fully cleared of debris and vegetation to ensure the integrity and safety of the structure and facilitate the necessary inspection. A full and detailed dam safety inspection will now take place to establish if further maintenance and if any safety works are required to the structure.

Any further maintenance works associated with the reservoir will be communicated to the local community by Uisce Éireann and Louth County Council.
